On the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Borrowby Mill is set in a quiet location in the village of Borrowby near Thirsk. The Mill is the ideal starting point for touring the Moors and Dales and visiting the nearby ancient abbeys of Riveaulx, Fountains and Byland.
The Mill is run by Mark, a fully trained chef, and his wife Vicki. With a secluded garden for guests to relax in, the house is full of character with comfortably-furnished rooms (which all have private bathrooms), tea and coffee making facilities and colour television. The cosy drawing room houses an extensive library of books and is also available for guests to use.
Food is of prime importance at The Mill and after a restful night's sleep you will be served a hearty breakfast made from local produce. There is plenty to choose from, including cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt, cooked breakfasts and toasted fresh bread with local preserves. Freshly ground coffee is always on hand, and evening meals are can be arranged if required.
Nearby attractions include the historic town of Helmsley with its castle and walled garden. The Yorkshire Dales lie to the west with historic market towns, excellent walking and attractions. This part of Yorkshire is a patchwork of charming little villages, with moorland roads plunging steeply down to wooded valleys and rising again to spectacular views over the heather.
