Cockpit Cottage is situated in an idyllic location, set in the heart of tiny fishing village, Runswick Bay. Our quaint residence overlooks the dramatic coastline and the long stretching sands of this beautiful Yorkshire beach.
The cottage has been refurbished, infusing contemporary comforts for guests needs whilst still resembling the character and charm of an original fisherman’s cottage. The bedrooms feature uninterrupted views of the bay and are furnished for comfort and relaxation.
Runswick Bay is a haven for artists painting idyllic landscapes of the painted white houses lining the picturesque harbour side. Previously famous for 600 years of fishing, alum quarries and ironstone mines, the bay now only holds only 40 permanent residents but has transformed in to a successful summer retreat and a peaceful port offering tranquillity during the winter months.
There’s many old shipwreck and smuggling tales to be discovered and the Cleveland Way cliff walk to lead you in to the heart of Whitby.
