Furnace Farm is a working farm which has been in the Dowson family for 3 generations. The farmhouse dates back to the Victorian era, however primitive iron smelting took place on this site back in the 12th and 13th century, giving the farm its current name.
Located in Fryup, a small village in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Furnace Farm B&B is the ideal place for those who enjoy the stunning Yorkshire countryside and coast. There are countless walks in this area, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, famous for its beautiful steam trains, is also within 6 miles of Fryup. The rail line runs from Grosmont to Pickering, and stops at towns and villages along the way, including Goathland, otherwise known as 'Heartbeat Country', and Whitby, famous for its top quality fish and chips.
The B&B accommodation is comfortable and spacious, and boasts beautiful countryside views.
Thresher Cottage, a recent conversion from a threshing barn and wheel house, is also available for hire.
