Groves Dyke Holiday Cottage - Sleights

Groves Dyke Cottage is set in tranquil woodland near the village of Sleights, just three miles from Whitby. The cottage has a modern, well-equipped kitchen, hand-made oak furniture and is furnished to a high standard throughout. Each of the beds in the three bedrooms (one double, one twin and one single) has low allergy bedding in the form of a generously proportioned, feather-free duvet.
It’s a cosy place in the cooler months, as Groves Dyke is very well insulated, double glazed throughout, and has an excellent heating system and a flame effect gas fire. There are solar panels on the roof to provide lashings of hot water for a relaxing bath after a hard day’s walking.
The sitting room has a view across the garden to the stunning scenery of the Esk Valley - and to help you enjoy the view and relax in style there’s a recliner chair, a sofa and a comfortable armchair.
Off the hall, there’s a shower room with toilet and wash basin, and there’s also a bathroom upstairs.

On arrival, you’ll find a welcome package of Fair Trade tea, coffee and sugar and a pint of milk in the fridge. It’s such a lovely setting that even household chores such as washing up can become a little less boring - there’s a picture window above the sink that overlooks a wild bird feeding station and has views of Groves Coppice nature reserve, a private 5-acre wood with plenty of wildlife and steep woodland paths - ideal territory for exploring.
