Having undergone recent refurbishment, Kildale Cottage is a cosy and comfortable cottage, which has all of the modern amenities you need to enjoy a relaxing stay, without having compromised its original seaside cottage character and charm. The building is estimated to be 250 years old, and has retained its beautiful beamed ceilings
Kildale's location could not be more ideal, situated in the heart of the beautiful coastal village of Staithes, in a pretty paved square of cottages, just yards away from the harbour. The village also has a small beach and rocky outlets, where you can search for crabs and other interesting creatures in the many rock pools.
Staithes was once the largest fishing port north of the Wash on the east coast, where fish would be auctioned to hundreds of buyers on the harbourside. Small amounts of line-caught fish, plus fine crabs and lobsters are still caught by local fishermen today, and are supplied to local eateries.
