Mount Pleasant is at the heart of beautiful rolling countryside, and has sublime views for miles over the Vale of York. It is a working farm, just outside the small and peaceful village of Whashton, just three miles from the bustling market town of Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This lovely stone farmhouse dates back to 1850, yet still retains much of the original character, and has been renovated to provide a high standard of visitor accommodation, and this is topped up with personal attention and welcoming hospitality from the owners, Alison and Dirk Pittaway.
There are rooms to suit families, couples or single guests, and one ground floor room has been adapted for disabled people. Each room has its own front door, and is like a personal en suite cottage room.
The comfortable guest lounge has an open log fire when it gets chilly and glorious views across the surrounding countryside. It’s also got plenty of tourism information and a supply of books for guests to enjoy.
Guests can start their day with a Mount Pleasant Farmer’s breakfast which includes local free-range eggs, our own award- winning sausages, dry cured bacon and black pudding, and a selection of home-made preserves.
Mount Pleasant Farm also has three self-catering cottages for rent - all equipped and furnished to very high standards.
You’re sure to enjoy a stay at Mount Pleasant Farm - nearby Richmond has been described by some as “the most romantic town in the whole of England”.
