Mount Royale Hotel - York

This beautiful York hotel was originally two private houses, built during the reign of William IV. The Mount Royale Hotel was founded in 1965 by Christine Oxtoby, who has gone to great lengths to ensure that the hotel is a peaceful, beautiful retreat for all of its guests.

Still owned and run by Christine Oxtoby today, this lovely York hotel not only offers you friendly, professional service, it also boasts a range of luxurious facilities such as an outdoor hot tub, a sauna and steam room, and a beauty treatment centre.

All of the bedrooms in the Mount Royale Hotel have been individually designed, and each has its own unique features. Some, for example, are elegant suites, some have dressing rooms, some have four poster beds, and our garden suites lead directly onto our garden.

The hotel is in a good location, with the city walls and many of York's visitor attractions only a few minutes away on foot. The train station is also nearby.
