North Yorkshire is England's largest county and it could be described as the most varied of them all in terms of landscape.

From highlands to lowlands, from coastal towns to remote villages, from thronging cities to peaceful country - North Yorkshire has it all.

It is the home to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park. It has some of the finest coastline in the country - which includes some glorious seaside towns and villages, sites of special scientific interest, and nature and wildlife reserves.

North Yorkshire's cities, and towns take some beating too - York would be a jewel in anyone's crown, with it's wealth of history, Jorvik Viking Centre, historic homes, castles, and museums - and, towering over everything, in more ways than one, the splendid York Minster.

But within the county there are just so many places to visit - each with its own character.
