The Seacliffe - Whitby

The Seacliffe Hotel has a first-class position on Whitby's exclusive North Promenade, and overlooks the beach and harbour entrance, and provides breathtaking views from Whitby Abbey to Sandsend.

With 18 en suite bedrooms, a licensed bar, an in-house restaurant, and a comfortable lounge, plus a peaceful and relaxing position on the seafront, the Seacliffe is a popular choice for the visitors to Whitby and the North York Moors.

The Seacliffe has its own guest car park with private parking for up to eight cars, plus additional motorcycle parking. Free, on-street parking is available along the North Promenade.

Guests can choose from a wide choice of freshly cooked breakfasts each morning: a full-English breakfast (with a vegetarian option); kippers; scrambled egg with smoked salmon; porridge.

The in-house restaurant provides an extensive menu of 2 or 3 course meals ranging from Whitby scampi or lamb shank to fresh lobster or fillet steak, and all accompanied by something rather special from our wine list. Places in the restaurant are limited so please book in advance.

After dining, why guests can relax in the comfortable and well-stocked lounge-bar and enjoy the sea view and the company of other guests.

The Seacliffe Hotel offers guests a variety of bedrooms: single; double; four-poster; twin or family (1 double + 1 single) rooms are available. Rooms are either standard or economy.

All rooms have full central heating and are equipped with a compact en suite shower, washbasin & WC; hospitality tray; colour TV; telephone (with secure Internet access); hairdryer; etc. Some family rooms have a full bathroom.

Depending on position within the Hotel, standard rooms have views over the sea to the front, the patio and garden to the side, or the Cricket Club to the rear.

The Seacliffe also has a number of smaller 'Economy' rooms with all of the same facilities as a standard double room, but with a limited view. Economy rooms are also available for single occupancy, with a small supplementary charge.

These Economy rooms are ideal for guests who like to get out and about - exploring Whitby and the locality - but who want the convenience of facilities such as the restaurant and the bar, etc.

The Seacliffe is situated close to the Spa Pavilion, the indoor pool, and all the attractions on the West Cliff.

Whitby’s historic town centre and harbour is only a few minutes’ walk away along the scenic North Promenade.

If the tide allows, then a leisurely stroll along Whitby’s Blue Flag beach takes you to the tranquillity of Sandsend.
