South House Farm Holiday Cottages - Fylingthorpe

South House Farm is set in a beautiful valley in the North York Moors National Park, between the Moors and the sea - just a mile south of the historic fishing (and smuggling!) village of Robin Hood’s Bay.

It was once a working dairy farm, but South House Farm’s old stone buildings have now been converted into four well furnished, self-catering holiday cottages, each of which retains original features and has its own individual character. Surrounded by one hundred and eighty acres of picturesque farmland, expansive woodland and rippling streams, South House Farm is the perfect location for a family retreat or a romantic getaway.

Television, Freeview channels and DVDs are available for your enjoyment or just to occupy the children, and with extensive gardens and access to a private tennis court, you are sure to enjoy the activities available to you on the farm. If you’re wanting to stretch your legs, Boggle Hole beach, stretching from Robin’s Hood Bay to the cliffs of Ravenscar and famous for fossil hunting and rock pooling, is a great site of scientific interest and a mere five minutes’ walk away. Good traditional pub food is available in the village, and a range of excellent restaurants can be found in nearby Whitby and Scarborough.

Whitby, Scarborough and York, are within easy reach, as are the market towns of Pickering, Helmsley and Beverley. There’s wonderful walking on the Cleveland Way, stretching along the cliff paths and overlooking the seaside cove of Boggle Hole, and the old Scarborough to Whitby railway line, open to cyclists, horse riders and visitors on foot, offers breathtaking views of the valley.

Stable Cottage (sleeps 6)
The ground floor comprises of a large lounge/dining room, kitchen, twin bedroom and a family bathroom with shower over bath. A French window opens on to the large garden. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms (1 twin and 1 double).

Orchard Cottage (sleeps 4)
The ground floor comprises of an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen and a family bathroom with shower over bath. To the rear lies a large garden. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin).

Mill House and Mill Cottage
A pair of stone built semi-detached cottages, set together at the top end of the farm yard and converted from the old grain milling house.

Mill House (sleeps 6)
The ground floor comprises of three double rooms (2 en-suite) and a family bathroom. Upstairs there’s an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room with a balcony offering a spectacular view over the valley.

Mill Cottage (sleeps 2)
The ground floor comprises of an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room with real wood flooring. Upstairs is an en-suite gallery bedroom with 6' bed.

Availability:
All cottages are available for either weekly (Saturday to Saturday) or short-break lets.
