Spikers Hill Country Cottage - West Ayton

This delightful farm cottage was converted from a cart shed and granary, and is situated in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park on a 500 acre working farm. The countryside which surrounds the farm is picturesque and peaceful, making Spikers Hill the perfect spot for a relaxing break.

The self-catered residence provides quality accommodation close to the coast. The interior is open plan and spacious, with lovely high ceilings and beautiful exposed beams. The kitchen area is well equipped and the living area is cosy. There is also a downstairs WC and cloakroom. Upstairs are two bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. There is a large family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower and a separate laundry room.

The historic city of York is only a 45 minute drive away, where you can go back in time and discover Viking life at the Jorvik Centre, or take a ghost walk in one of the renowned haunted cities of the world. This medieval city is also home to one of the most popular, longest running pantomimes in the country at the Theatre Royal.

Spikers Hill is only 6 miles from the Victorian coastal town of Scarborough, Britain’s first seaside coastal resort. An abundance of fascinating architecture, museums and galleries, arcades and amusement parks await. Visit wondrous creatures and crustaceans of the deep North Sea or gaze at the mystical misunderstood sharks and endangered species from the crystal waters of the Great Barrier Reef, all at the Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary. Why not examine birdlife at Bempton Cliffs or take a boat trip to the seal colonies at Casty Rocks. Alternatively, visit the once renowned smugglers port of Whitby, now world famous for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, or stroll along the long golden stretched sands of Robin Hood’s Bay. All are fantastic days out for all the family!
