The Gillygate - York

The Gillygate is a lovely, cosy York inn which is named after the street on which it is located. At one end of Gillygate lies York St John University, at the other lies Bootham Bar, and between the two there is a multitude of shops and restaurants.

Bootham Bar is a beautiful bastion of the ancient city walls which surround York's city centre. Within a minute of walking through its archway you will arrive at York's spectacular gothic cathedral, The Minster, which is really worth visiting. From here all parts of the city centre are easily accessible.
