The Golden Fleece is alleged to be not only York's oldest inn, but also its most haunted! The building is mentioned in the York Archives as early as 1503, and is situated in the heart of the city, opposite York's oldest medieval street: The Shambles.

Each of the four bedrooms in this historic York inn has its own unique character and history.

The Shambles overlooks the aforementioned medieval street, and is beautifully furnished with a four poster bed.

The bathroom in the Lady Catherine room disappeared from the building plans for over 200 years, and was only uncovered once again in the year 2000!

Lady Peckett's boasts a lovely preserved ceiling rose. The room is named after the wife of John Peckett, the mayor of York around 1702. Previously their home, many sightings of the Lady have been reported, most frequently in this room.

The Minster Suite boasts views over The Shambles to the towers of the Minster. In this room you can enjoy the luxury of a four poster bed and a private lounge area.
