Comfort, character and charisma - all can be found plentifully in the 17th century former coaching inn that is now the Old Star Guest House. It’s run by the owners, Barbara and Barrie Martin, and their family with the emphasis on providing a warm welcome and great value.
There are seven bedrooms and all are well-equipped to make guests’ stay as comfortable as possible. The lounge and dining room have oak beams and when it gets cooler there’s a log fire in the traditional stone fireplace in the cosy lounge.
There are fine views from the Guest House and the secluded garden across the Dales.
West Witton was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and there’s lots of history in the area. There are also good walking and cycle routes, as well as places to eat and drink. Barbara and Barrie will be delighted to suggest things to see and do to make their guests’ stay happy and enjoyable.
