The recently refurbished bedrooms are all en suite and have walk-in showers. The rooms are tastefully furnished and well decorated, providing comfortable accommodation with plenty of extras, for your comfort and enjoyment, such as hospitality tray, TV, radio alarm clock, hair dryer and individual heating controls.

Queensland B&B has a range of room options including superior four-poster, superior double, standard double, family and a dedicated single occupancy room. All superior rooms include flat screen TVs with DVD built-in and the four-poster rooms also include luxury body massage shower towers.

All rooms have wireless internet access making it easy to keep in touch with friends and family or, if you’re travelling on business, with the office. And, of course, it’s a must for checking out local events and attractions to help you plan your day.

The breakfast dining room is spacious, with a large bay window letting in plenty of light, and high ceilings - a lovely place to begin the day. There’s a wide range of delicious choices on offer and the Queensland aims to provide first-rate home-cooked fayre produced with fresh ingredients, and local ones wherever possible.

There’s crazy golf, pitch and putt, a children’s paddling pool, tennis courts, a boating lake and a 18-hole links golf course all within easy reach, as well as the sandy Blue Flag beach, the harbour and the numerous shops and boutiques in the town centre. The Whitby Pavilion and Spa Theatre is within easy walking distance and offers an extensive programme of shows, activities and events. The old town is a shopper’s paradise, with a variety of unique shops selling everything from handcrafted Whitby jet jewellery to antiques and maritime memorabilia. Other local attractions include the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, the Dracula Experience, the Whitby Museum, and the imposing landmark that is the 13th Century Abbey ruin.

Whitby is also a haven for food lovers, from traditional tea rooms to award-winning seafood restaurants, taking in, along the way, several rightly-renowned fish and chip shops as well as Indian, Chinese and continental cuisine.
