Situated between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, Thirsk racecourse is one of the most attractive country courses in Yorkshire. Guests will find the course welcoming and friendly with excellent facilities, and easy to get to due to its good road and rail links.
There are 14 days of quality racing scheduled for 2012, with the course attracting excellent horses from the length and breadth of the country.
From April through to September the sole use of the course is flat racing. The course itself comprises two parts, the first of which is a straight, six furlong run, with the grandstand offering a superb view of the winning post. The second section is a left-hand circuit of approximately 1¼ miles that marries up with the straight run for the final 3 furlongs.
The grandstands provide excellent views of the entire course, not to mention the stunning open countryside that lies beyond.
