Thornton Lodge B&B - Leyburn

Situated above the River Ure in the beautiful Wensleydale countryside, this luxurious lodge offers 5* Yorkshire bed and breakfast accommodation. The lodge was built in 1909 as a summer home for the very wealthy Tunstill family, who spared no expense in making the lodge a grand property for entertaining. Their efforts are still visible today, with ceilings around 14 ft in height, and each sash window being over 6ft high.

We have 9 bedrooms which are individually styled in keeping with the Edwardian era. The furniture is a mixture of antique and modern, with period wardrobes and dressing tables and new sofas. As well as our standard rooms we have a family suite, a wheelchair accessible room and two four poster rooms.

Breakfast is served in our elegant oak-panelled dining room. We offer juices, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts, fish dishes (with prior notice) and our hearty cooked Yorkshire breakfast.
