The Wainstones Hotel is a family-owned and managed country inn with very high standards of care and comfort. Guests receive a warm Yorkshire welcome from our dedicated staff. The hotel has 24 en suite bedrooms, equipped with modern amenities including satellite TV and high-speed broadband. There is a bar, serving hand-pulled ales and bar meals which have been rated as the “best bar none” in the area.
The Wainstones is located in Great Broughton, a small, attractive village just a mile from the North York Moors National Park. It’s also near Great Ayton, where Captain James Cook lived as a young lad, and the building where he received his education is now the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum. It’s a lovely part of the world and one of the finest local views is of a distinctively-shaped hilly outcrop called Roseberry Topping. The delightful resort of Whitby, with more Captain Cook connections, is less than 30 miles away across the Moor.
