Whitefriars Guest House is a rather charming 17th century family home which brings to mind the household of gentlefolk of Jane Austen’s era. It is only a short walk from Settle’s Market Place, and less than ten minutes’ away from Settle station on the Settle-Carlisle Railway.
And yet there’s an air of calm and peacefulness about the house. Perhaps it’s because of Whitefriars’ monastic connections, or because the house is set in spacious gardens with a courtyard, or maybe it’s that glorious feeling of relaxation that seems prevalent in the Yorkshire Dales.
The bedrooms are all of a generous size, and most have en suite facilities. The house has two lounges - one with a television - and a licensed breakfast room where a delicious English Breakfast is served.
