The Principal York is hosting an open air cinema screenings of films we know and love. Their beautiful grounds with views of York Minster are the perfect setting to sit back, relax and enjoy a great movie.

Who said you had to stay indoors to watch films? Tickets are £15 per adult, £8 per child (aged 14 or under).

The Greatest Showman – Singalong – Friday 28th June – 7pm

Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again – Friday 5th July – 7pm

Watch a real feel good film with your friends and family in this tribute to the wonderful music of ABBA. Find out what’s been happening with Sophie and the gang since we last saw them.

A Star Is Born – Sunday 14th July – 7pm

If you’ve not seen the sensational A Star Is Born yet, now is your chance to watch it in setting worthy of the film! Make sure to bring a tissue for those tear jerking moments…

We’re expecting a lot of love for the screenings of Bohemian Rhapsody, so book yourself into one of the two showings for possibly the biggest film of 2019.

Although you can’t bring your own drinks and snacks to the screening, there are lots of foodie delights waiting for you when you arrive. As well as food stalls selling popcorn, sweet treats and hot food, there’s also going to be a popup bar serving alcoholic and soft drinks throughout the evening.

You can make the evening even more special by signing up for some of the delicious treats happening before the screening.
