Let Little Alf show you the best things to do in the Dales

Little Alf’s new family trail shows you the best things to do in the Dales.

Little Alf, who stands at just 28 inches tall, is a miniature Shetland who has a rare condition of dwarfism. He came to live with owner Hannah Russell in 2012, and soon after his arrival Hannah noticed how cheeky Alfie was and began a blog about Little Alf’s daily adventures. It wasn’t long before Little Alf became an online social media star and his blog grew to having over 20 thousand followers. Now, he’s pointing out all his favourite things to do in the Dales and sharing them with his fans.

Hannah and Little Alf ready to show off great things to do in the Dales

After Little Alf’s online popularity grew, Hannah wrote a book about Little Alf which was published in 2014 when Hannah was just 17 years old. Since then, she has gone on to write a series of books about Little Alf and his cheeky antics including his ‘Memoir’ which was an instant best seller on amazon.

In July 2017, Hannah opened up her first Little Alf shop in Leyburn market town full of the Little Alf books and merchandise. After opening up the shop, Hannah thought about launching a family activity based on Little Alf’s adventures and the idea took hold. This march they are launching the very first ‘Little Alf trail around the Yorkshire Dales’ for their customers.

The new family experience is a 35 mile circular drive around the Yorkshire Dales national park, starting from the Little Alf shop in Leyburn market town and following the river Ure down the south side of the valley and returning on the north side.

The trail takes you past waterfalls, historic castles, gift and craft shops, wildlife, cafes and of course scenic views and has been described as a ‘fun day for all the family.’

The Little Alf trail packages include 2 maps, 1 X Little Alf Buddy, 2 x Colour in sheets and pencil packs, 1 x Little Alf bag, 1 x car window sticker and a Little Alf tour guide and discount voucher booklet which can be used on route.
