Follow the Vikings
Explore the cultural and historic impact of the Vikings in this spectacular event. Actors, musicians, film-makers and dancers from all over Europe are collaborating on a unique visual celebration of Viking heritage.

Celebrate the beauty and diversity of the gorgeous orchid flower at the festival at Burton Agnes Hall. You’ll be astounded by the stunning displays and get chance to speak with experts about growing and caring for your own orchids.

Yorkshire Ales Food Festival
Yorkshire Ales are hosting their first food festival this year and it is set to be amazing! Street food and other delicious treats will be available throughout the day. Come along and support this brand new Yorkshire food festival.

Exploring Rievaulx Abbey
Come along to Rievaulx Abbey this March and learn lots more about the fascinating site from Tony Powell. Tony is an English Social History lecturer who has studied the site for the past 20 years. Join him on an in-depth walk around the Abbey.

Malton Food Market
Malton Food Market is back in full swing and we’re really excited about it. There are 35 food stalls for you to enjoy nibbling your way around. The treats on offer are all locally sourced and delicious.

The Captain Cook Memorial Museum are hosting a special exhibition this year. They’re sharing the lesser known, amazing discoveries of Cook’s first voyage. Cook sailed with respected botanist Joseph Banks who made a variety of important discoveries on the trip.

Ryedale Festival Spring Weekend
While the full Ryedale Festival doesn’t take place until later in the year, you can welcome in the Spring with three wonderful events.

Dark Skies Festival
If you didn’t get chance to go along to any of the fantastic Dark Skies events that took place in February, don’t worry. There are still plenty of things you can pop along to in March to learn more about the wonderful night sky.

Yes, you read that correctly! You can set sail on the Dalesman canal boat and enjoy two hours of cruising and gin tasting. You’ll get to sample five different gins of your choosing from the collection and learn all about serving the perfect drink. You’ll even get to take a souvenir Copa glass home with you.

Lucy Pittaway Spring Lunch
Come along and meet Yorkshire artist Lucy Pittaway. You’ll get to spend time talking to Lucy and viewing some of her latest work before tucking into a delicious two course lunch.

Nunnington Hall are opening their doors to York and Ryedale residents free of charge. You’re invited to explore the hall, enjoy a guided tour, and take in the splendour of your surrounds. Simply show your York resident card or proof of address when you arrive for free entry.

Music at Malham
Enjoy classical music in a stunning location in Malham this March. You’ll hear from fantastic performers completely free of charge.
