Every year the North Yorkshire Moors Railyway’s Railway in Wartime event draws in people from far and wide and, celebrating its 21st year this year, the Railway in Wartime 2013 is no exception.
Starting on Friday 11 October there will be World War II re-enactment entertainment at Pickering, Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont spanning three days. Travel along the steam railway between stops and you can expect to see lots of superb costumes, dancing, singing, vintage vehicles and much more.
Every year on the Saturday morning of the Railway in Wartime weekend a foot parade and a civilian vehicle parade takes place. This year the Foot Parade will commence at 10.47 at the Junior School on Middleton Road, and the Civilian Vehicle Parade will depart from Park Street shortly after the Foot Parade has passed by.
It’s a tremendously atmospheric event, and is one not to be missed!
