What’s on in April?

Easter at Mother Shipton’s

CheeseFest Harrogate

The UK’s only touring CheeseFest is coming to Harrogate. This year, it’s celebrating 30 years of Wallace and Gromit with a day full of delights. Over 140 artisan cheeses will be available, you’ll get to see live cooking demonstrations, hear live music, try your hand at model making and even meet Wallace and Gromit.

Penguins at SEAL LIFE Scarborough

Easter at Thornton Hall Country Park

There are a whole host of events taking place at Thornton Hall Country Park this Easter. As well as all the usual farm fun, you can enjoy circus workshops , learn science with Professor Pumpernickel, learn all about bees and other critters, and so much more.

Studfold Easter egg hunt

There are lots of challenges waiting for you on the Studfold Easter egg hunt. Colour your own Easter badge, uncover the spring fairies, count the golden rabbits and find answers to all the clues on your sheet.

Mangle cards and hot cross buns

If you’ve ever wanted to mangle your own card, now is your chance! The Ryedale Folk Museum is giving you the opportunity to use their Victorian washhouse and use their mangle to print your own Easter card. You’ll also get the chance to make and taste traditional hot cross buns toasted on the fire.

Easter on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Every child on the railway this Easter will get their own free activity sheet to complete to get their very own creme egg over the Easter weekend. Explore all the stunning stations along this heritage line, including a 1930s themed station, the setting for Harry Potter’s Hogsmeade Station, see behind the scenes engineering. Enjoy the Moors as you might never have seen them before.

Easter at Newby Hall

Newby Hall are hosting a fantastic Easter fun weekend. This year, they are theming their events around Alice in Wonderland, so expect a real treat. Play flamingo croquet on the lawn, meet the Mad Hatter as you try and solve clues on the woodland walk, and see if you can find a golden egg.

Harrogate Spring Flower Show

The Yorkshire Highwayman

Head over to Skipton Castle to meet John Nevison, one of Britain’s most notorious highwaymen. The gentleman rogue named ‘Swift Nick’ supposedly made a 200 mile dash from Kent to York to get himself an alibi for one of his robberies!
