There are lots of exciting things happening all over north Yorkshire for you to enjoy this March. Take a look at our pick of some of the great events we think you won’t want to miss.

Snowdrop Spectacular at Burton Agnes

Come and see the grounds of Burton Agnes Hall covered in beautiful snowdrops and start welcoming the spring. Take a stroll through the snowdrop walk, treat yourself in the onsite courtyard café and even purchase some of their propagated snowdrops home to your own garden.

Winter at Flamingo Land

Winter at flamingo land allows you to visit the zoo, enjoy new exhibits and play in the many playgrounds available. With over 140 species to look at and lots of daily animal shows, you will never be standing still. However for the people who may want a rest from all the excitement there are many fabulous cafés to visit around the park.

Malton Food Market

Every month, Malton hosts a food market with up to 35 food stalls you can enjoy. It’s for people who care about where their food is coming from, and educates and helps people to understand why getting locally sourced food is important. It’s also the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to some great food!

Rainforest Adventure at Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre

The brand new rainforest at the SEA LIFE Centre is full of mystery and adventure waiting to be discovered by you and your friends and family. Get up close with creepy crawlies, lizards and curious critters. With affordable prices and fun activities there’s no reason not to go.

Geology Walk at Brimham Rocks

Follow your geology guide around the incredible rock formations at Brimham Rocks and learn about the 320 million years of geological history that shaped them. See giant ferns and salamander’s footprints on your journey.

Learn from the experts how to capture magical pictures at night. Take original shots in the gloom in small groups to maximise your one to one time with the expert photographers.

Mother’s Day afternoon at Castle Howard

Take you mum out for some luxury afternoon tea in the elegant hall of Castle Howard. You will be served many savoury treats and sweet delights to enjoy. As well as afternoon tea you will also have a lovely spring walk around the gardens and the castle grounds.

Ryedale Festival Spring Weekend

The Ryedale Festival is offering a spectacular weekend full of outstanding performers from all over the world. Enjoy some of the most exciting new musicians and get the first look at the full programme for the summer festival.

Springtime Live, Harrogate

This hugely popular event is all about celebrating farms, foods and the countryside. There’s so much to do, including: lots of events, animal experiences and live entertainment from Cbeebies and Mr Bloom. These events are also all free once you are inside the event, so if you fancy a day out with family and farm animals, you should book now before it sells out!

Scarborough Punk Festival

To celebrate all forms of punk, this festival has a killer line up with upcoming bands as well as punk legends. As it is the very first punk festival to grace Scarborough’s shores, it will be hosted at the Scarborough Spa on the south bay.

Coxwold Village Market

The Adventures of the Yorkshire Shepherdess

Come and enjoy an evening (or matinee) with Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess. You’ll hear all her early years and lots of heart-warming tales from her remarkable farming life with her family. You’ll also get to see some of her remarkable photography.
