This beautiful Georgian cottage is a wonderful place to stay - whether for one night or many. It’s in the historic market town of Pickering, close to the boundary of the North York Moors National Park which has some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes.
The location is spot-on for anyone who likes walking, cycling or trekking. The friendly owners, Emma & Andy, are keen cyclists and walkers and really enjoy sharing their considerable knowledge of the best walks and rides in the area. Indeed they are so enthusiastic about the joys of ‘the great outdoors’ that they have recently gained the coveted ‘Cyclists are Welcome’ and ‘Walkers are Welcome’ accreditation, which, along with their richly deserved Enjoy England 4-star B&B ranking, shows that they are dedicated to providing a brilliant service to all their guests.
Eden House B&B has three guest bedrooms - two doubles and one twin which can convert to super kingsize, and all are all en suite, generously proportioned and well-equipped, including Freeview TV. There’s a guest sitting room with maps and info to help you plan your days out, as well as a selection of novels for those quieter moments.
Andy & Emma know that when you’ve got an active day ahead, it’s important to get off to a good start with a nourishing breakfast - they provide a great range of breakfast foods, always using locally-sourced products. They can also provide packed lunches by arrangement.
And there’s such a lot to see and do. Pickering has a station on the renowned North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which runs through Heartbeat Country all the way to the glorious seaside resort of Whitby. The town is also home to the Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life. Pickering Castle is maintained by English Heritage and is a splendid place to visit, as are nearby Helmsley Castle and Castle Howard.
