Mel House Cottages are located in the pretty village of Newton-on-Rawcliffe, just within the scenic North York Moors National Park.
Mallard
Mallard comprises a lounge, fully fitted kitchen, dining area and a twin bedroom, bathroom and wet room on the ground floor. There's a twin and double bedroom plus a further small bathroom on the first floor
Swift
Swift is a ground floor cottage comprising an open plan lounge and dining area, fully fitted kitchen, double, twin and single bedroom, bathroom and wet room.
Owl
Owl is a ground floor apartment which consists of a double and twin bedroom, bathroom, open plan living space and fully fitted kitchen.
Granary
Granary is a first floor apartment which boasts open plan lounge and dining area, fully fitted kitchen, a double and single bedroom (which can convert to a twin) and bathroom.
Immediately prior to our withdrawal from VisitEngland's 'National Accessible Scheme', 3 of our properties were accredited at various ‘levels’ as suitable for Guests with mobility impairment taking a holiday in self-catering accommodation. Owl was accredited as Access Level ‘M1’, Mallard as Access Level 'M3 (Assisted)', and Swift Access Level ‘M3 (Independent)’. We have made no changes which would affect these levels of 'access', as described below.
Level M1 = Guest has sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps and, to aid balance, would benefit from appropriate fixtures & fittings.
Level M3 (Assisted) = property is suited to a Guest depending on use of wheelchair in seated position but, for aiding transfer, may require mechanical or personal assistance (hoist or carer).
Level M3 (Independent) = property suited to a Guest who is able to transfer unaided to and from wheelchair in seated position.
